Day 6 - Last Day in Colorado Springs

Day 6 - Last Day in Colorado Spring

Our last day in Colorado Springs, we visited the Air Force Academy. We were all a little apprehensive as to what we would see.
We were happy to find that it was very interesting, steep in tradition and integrity. Each building had some unique character which made it stand out. But the most impressive building was the chapel which housed worship rooms for Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and Hinduism.

This building in the shape of a plane's tail was all glass and through the top of the building one could view the star Polaris, the north star.

Leaving the Academy we headed out to see Castle Rock. Unfortunately, mid-way there we decided it would take us too long to get there, so we opted to stop at a quaint little diner in Monument for lunch. It was as if we stepped back in time. The decor was 50's and had great selections on a jukebox.

Shortly after that we headed back to the hotel to freshen up for a night of dinner and melodrama.
